Why do I have to Register to browse the Website ?
A.The reason we ask people to register is quite simply because we want to ensure that those
people who use our site are genuinely interested in Irish Genealogy.
Q.How does Irish Family Research use the information collected ?
A.The information we collect includes your chosen Login name, your e-mail address and a password
of your choice to be used to access our Site. Your e-mail address is required because we need to send
your Membership Confirmation to you. It is also required to enable you to post your own research interests
on our Researchers Interests Page and so that you receive a copy of our Monthly Newsletter, informing you
of details of new additions to our Website. If you do not wish to receive the IFR Newsletter, simply e-mail us at
any time at ancestors@irishfamilyresearch.co.uk and we
will remove your details immediately from our Newsletter Mailing List.
We value your PRIVACY, and we would reassure you that we NEVER Sell or Pass on your Details to other Companies/third parties. The Information you
provide on registration remains CONFIDENTIAL at all times between ourselves and you. We NEVER post details of your Email addresses on the
Research Interests Page in order to Protect your privacy, and any Members wishing to contact other Members must do so via the IFR Research Team.
We also collect details of IP Addresses, as is the custom with all Websites.
Q.Why Does Irish Family Research Charge a Registration Fee for Full Members ?
A.The only reason we ask our Full/Monthly Members to pay a Registration Fee is
to enable us to Purchase further Original Materials to transcribe and make available Online.
Q.Why are the Counties that I am interested in Not on the Database List ?
A.If a County is not listed, then we do not have any materials
available for that County at present. We are however continually acquiring materials to transcribe, and the Website
is being updated on a regular basis. If you would like to receive details of when new materials applicable to your own research
become available, please e-mail us at ancestors@irishfamilyresearch.co.uk and
let us know what Counties you are interested in and we would be happy to e-mail you once new material is available.
Q.If I choose to become a Full/Monthly Member, how can I pay the Registration Fee ?
A.Once you have chosen to become a Full/Monthly Member, you can pay Online with your
credit card by clicking on the Links to Register or Upgrade as a Full/Monthly Member which may be accessed from the
Register Page. All Payments are processed by Worldpay, the safest and most secure way to pay over
the internet. Please be assured that your Credit Card details remain confidential between you and Worldpay and at no time do we
have access to this information.
Q.I have paid the Full/Monthly Membership Registration Fee.
How long will I have to wait before my Membership is activated ?
A.If you are registering for the first time, then once you have paid the Registration Fee,
you will have automatic access to all Full/Monthly Membership Benefits once you have returned to the IFR Site from
Worldpay's Secure Server.
Q.I am registered as a Standard Member and wish to Upgrade to Full/Monthly Membership, but I can't
remember my Login/Password. What should I do ?
A.Please e-mail us at ancestors@irishfamilyresearch.co.uk and
we will e-mail these details to you.
Q.I have upgraded from Standard to Full/Monthly Membership but when
I login, the Homepage says that I am still registered as a Standard Member. What should I do ?
A.If you have already joined as a Standard Member and wish to upgrade to Full Membership, you
need to ensure that the registration details you provided for Standard Membership (Login Name, e-mail & Password)
are exactly the same as the details you provide when you upgrade to Full/Monthly Membership.
Common reported errors include registering with different permeatations of the same name. Eg. Registering as a Standard Member
with Login: J. Bloggs. Then upgrading with Login: Joe Bloggs.
If your Login details are in any way different, the IFR Server will be unable to automatically locate
and update your Standard Membership details. If this should happen, please email us at ancestors@irishfamilyresearch.co.uk including
"Urgent" in the Subject Heading of your email. Whilst we require 2 working days for the matter to be investigated and
remedied, please be assured that you will not lose any valuable searching time as your
Full/Monthly Membership will commence only once you have logged onto the IFR Site as a Full/Monthly Member.
If you are unsure as to your exact Login/Password, please e-mail us at ancestors@irishfamilyresearch.co.uk for details.
Q.What are Irish Family Research's Working Hours ?
A.The IFR Team works from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, transcribing and making
new Data available online, undertaking research and writing commissions, and responding to IFR Members requests for research advice.
If you have a query which is not covered by the above, please refer to the
IFR Terms & Conditions , or alternatively please contact us by email:
